How can a car go into gear when engines off?

how can a car go in to gear without the engine on and without pressing on the clutch|||cars with clutches need to use the parking brake ; if they do not they will roll.|||i don%26#039;t recommend doing it, but you can force the shifter lever or handle to put it in a gear, but, by doing this, you run the risk of doing damage to the clutch, syncromesh plates,(those are the plates between the gears), clutch fork, pressure plate, throw out bearing AND the transmission.|||The gear teeth happen to be lined up.|||The gears need to be lined up, get the car rolling and yank it into gear.
